Fatherhood

In 1960, 11 percent of children lived in homes without a biological father. Today, that percentage has tripled to 33 percent.1

Children who do not have a biological father in the home are two to three times more likely to be poor, to use drugs, to experience educational, health, emotional and behavioral problems, to be victims of child abuse, and to engage in criminal behavior than their peers who live with their married, biological (or adoptive) parents. 2

The Northwest Marriage Institute is deeply concerned about these statistics, and has secured a federal grant to provide a program of instruction for fathers.

The Northwest Marriage Institute is a non-profit organization in the state of Washington that has been serving the needs of fathers and married couples in Washington and Oregon since 2004.

Pathways to Responsible Fatherhood is a free program consists of coaching on workplace advancement and financial stability, as well as an 8 hour seminar focusing on parenting, fatherhood, and relationship skills.

The Northwest Marriage Institute is currently registering people for this program. You can register here. Dates are filling up fast, so please get your name on our list as soon as you can. And, if you know of other fathers who could benefit from this program, please let them know.
