Transforming the Broken and Fatherless
I was privileged today to visit 5 Rock Ranch in Yamhill, Oregon. Scott Bradley and his wife, Christy, began this ranch to help transform the lives of those who are broken and hurting, especially those who are fatherless. I saw firsthand how God is using 5 Rock Ranch to powerfully touch people’s lives.
It is clear that Scott has a passion for this ministry. He wept as he described how people who have come to the ranch have been given hope and spiritual renewal.
Recovering from heartache, struggles, or abuse is a challenging proposition, but it certainly is worth the trouble. One of the goals of 5 Rock Ranch is to equip people who have gone through difficulties to mentor others. The concept of training people who are recovering to become leaders is not a new one, although it is one that many churches and parachurch organizations can incorporate into their programming. Rick Warren said, “Of the 186 ministries at Saddleback Church I can state without apology that Celebrate Recovery is my favorite because of one reason, it is a leadership factory.”
I salute Scott and Christy Bradley and the staff at 5 Rock Ranch!
