Album Review: Saturate by Bread of Stone
Bread of Stone recently released its third album, Saturate. Bread of Stone is a pop/rock band from Sioux City, Iowa. Band mates consists of two brothers, Ben and Bill Kristijanto, and Tim Barnes and Wesley Holt.
Saturate is an eclectic blend of melodic pop and progressive rock structured with heart-warming choruses in the vein of Tenth Avenue North and Casting Crowns. It was produced by Grammy award winner Tedd T. and Lynn Nichols. The album demonstrates a clear evolution from the band’s two previous releases, Letting Go and Broken Vessels.
Throughout the 5-song album, Ben Kristijanto’s voice reveals a pleasant and passionate quality. Harmonies are rich and add distinction to the band’s style.
Saturate was inspired through the band’s experiences serving the poor in Indonesia. The lyrics illustrate the band’s compassion for the disenfranchised and needy, especially in songs like Beautiful and Saturate. Bread of Stone’s intent is to share what God is doing with the band and in poor countries around the world.
