Thanksgiving to God
This holiday season, as we are furiously cleaning our house for guests or fighting the traffic on the way to a relatives’ home, and as we are consuming a requisite 5,000 calorie meal, taking a nap or watching football, let’s consider all the things that we have to be thankful for.
It is so easy to complain about what we don’t have, haven’t attained, or what we have lost. But one thing we know for certain: God is with us and He is good!
This Thanksgiving, take a moment to reflect with relatives and other loved ones about all that God has given to us.
Below is a Psalm written long ago. This was one of my first passages I memorized as a child. It is a reminder of God’s sovereignty and love.
Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.
Worship the LORD with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the LORD is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the LORD is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.
