Leading with Passion

There has been much written recently about the vitality of passion in leaders. Passion is one of those hard-to-define intangible qualities. Some people have it and some don’t. But passion is arguably one of the most influential marks of an effective leader.

Sharon West describes passionate leadership in four ways:

1. Knowing who you are.
2. Identifying what you have to contribute to the world.
3. Sharing what you know with others.
4. Inspiring others to action.

These are excellent points to ponder. If we are to intentionally lead, we must know ourselves well enough to understand what we have to offer, then be able to share it with others in a compelling manner.
